Key Features of Hygienic Clamps:

  • Precision-Made: Designed for pharmaceutical and biotech industries, ensuring joint cleanliness and efficiency.
  • Material: Primarily 316 Stainless Steel, with some options in 304 Stainless Steel.
  • Accessibility: Provide quick access for cleaning and inspection without compromising safety.
  • Compliance: All clamps are CE compliant per Pressure Equipment Directive 97/23/EC and Machinery Directive 98/37/EC.

Types of Clamps and their Characteristics:

  • SH Style Clamp: Standard in 316 SS, features a two-pin hinge for uniform gasket compression. Available in 1/2" to 12" sizes, with two-bolt options (Type II for 6" and larger) and choice of wing nuts or hex nuts (SHX).
  • SSH Clamp: High-pressure clamp available in 304 or optional 316 SS. Sizes range from 1/2" to 6". Hex nuts can be brass or stainless steel.
  • ASME Clamp: Designed for pressure vessels and filter housings, ranging from 1" to 12". Meets ASME Section VIII Appendix 24. All components are traceable 316 SS.
  • Schedule Pipe Clamps: Available for all clamp styles, offering cost savings, lower maintenance, quicker access, and better cleanability compared to common pipe flange connections.

Fastener Options for SH Clamp:

  • Wing Nut Options: Ergonomic, conventional (with or without hole for torque assistance).
  • Hex Nut Options: Standard dome nut, hex nut, spring-loaded dome nut (maintains tension during temperature fluctuations), and non-galling options.

Specialty Clamps:

  • Safety Clamp: Based on SH design, with a stepped eyebolt for added security, preventing accidental opening.
  • Lockout Clamp: Features a shroud and domed nut to prevent unauthorized access, requiring a padlock.
  • Anti-Gall Clamp: Constructed with Nitronic 60 stainless steel alloy for the bolt, resistant to over-torquing and sodium hydroxide-based cleaning solutions.

Additional Notes:

  • Pressure ratings for various clamp sizes and types are detailed on page 2, including maximum working pressure at 300°F and maximum test pressure.
  • ASME Clamp pressure ratings incorporate a safety factor of 5 per ASME Section VIII Code.
